About
Learn the market by reading it
Leoside Equity is a daily research site for people who want to understand how the market actually works, rather than just watch the numbers move. Three markets, seven days a week, free to read from start to finish.
What this is
A research report goes out every day, walking through its subject the way an analyst would look at it. What is actually going on, what moves the numbers, where the pressure points are, and what the current price is asking you to believe.
You do not need a finance background to follow one. The reports are written so that a reader who is curious about markets can pick up the reasoning as they go, along with the vocabulary and the habits of thinking that make everything else easier to read. Work through a few of them and the annual reports, the earnings headlines and the arguments people have about a stock all start making a lot more sense.
The point is not to tell you what to buy. It is to show you how a business, an index or a sector gets taken apart and put back together, so that eventually you can do it yourself.
The week
Each day has a fixed market, so you always know what is coming.
The shape of a report follows its subject. Most days that means one listed business examined closely. On the Indian days it usually means pulling back to look at the market or a sector as a whole, which is a different kind of question and a useful counterweight to reading one company at a time.
Common questions
Is this investment advice?
No. Everything published here is general commentary written for education and discussion. It does not take your financial position, goals, tax situation or risk tolerance into account. Read the research disclaimer in full before acting on anything you find here.
Are you a registered analyst or adviser?
No. Leoside Equity is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority, or any other regulator, in any capacity. Nothing here should be treated as though it were.
Do you hold positions in the companies you write about?
Sometimes. We may note a position in a report, and no conclusion should be drawn from the absence of one. Assume a position may exist in anything we cover, and weigh every argument on its own merits.
How is the research put together?
That is set out on its own page. See our research method.
Can I share or republish a report?
Link to it freely. Quoting a paragraph with attribution is fine. Republishing a report in full, or feeding the reports into a commercial product, is not. See the terms of service.
Where do I read the reports?
Here on the site. Sign in and the newest report is on the home page, with everything else under Reports and organised by month, week and day on your dashboard. You can save any report to come back to.
Something in a report is wrong. What now?
Write in. Corrections get made at the top of the report with the date and what changed, not silently in the text.
